We Can Help You
Why Should I Dry Clean My Wedding Dress?
Dry-cleaning your wedding dress preserves its delicate fabrics and intricate embellishments by gently removing stains, oils, and dirt without harsh rubbing. Our keepsake boxes help prevent yellowing and fabric deterioration over time, ensuring your gown stays crisp and luminous for years to come. Professional care also addresses hidden spots in pleats, seams, and under-layers that home laundering can miss. Ultimately, a quality dry-clean gives you peace of mind that your wedding memory and the dress itself will remain as beautiful as the day you wore it.
FAQ Wedding Dress Cleaning and Storage
Can you take a wedding dress to any dry cleaner? What should you look for, or should you ask a potential dress cleaner?
Definitely take your dress to a dry-cleaner who has experience with wedding dresses. They will know how to treat the delicate fabrics rather than a dry-cleaner that only does men’s suits
How much does it cost to dry clean a wedding dress?
Wedding dress dry cleaning starts from $330, thereafter it’s dependant on the condition of the dress and how many layers it contains. To receive a quote, contact us to drop off your dress, and we’ll access it with our dry cleaning and give a quote within 5 working days.
What is the process of getting your wedding dress professionally cleaned?
A bride will bring her dress to us and we will examine the condition of it. After this we will be able to give her an estimation of the dry-cleaning cost. The cost not only depends on the amount of stains but also factors how many layers the dress consists of as each layer gets pressed individually after the dress is cleaned.
Do you have to have your dress cleaned even if there isn’t visible dirt? If so, why?
It is good to get your dress dry-cleaned to avoid any sweat stains and smells. You would have been in your dress for almost the entirety of the day and it’s possibly been touched by many of your guests. It’s best to get it cleaned so it’s nice and fresh when storing and it’s a bonus if you wish to sell it at a later date.
What type of storage do you recommend for wedding dresses?
The best way to store your dress is to box it. Leaving it hanging puts a lot of weight on the hanger tags, depending on how heavy your dress is, and eventually might tear. It’s best to store in an acid-free box with acid-free tissue paper to stop it from discolouring. Natural fabrics will discolour faster than synthetic fabrics. We sell both the storage/keepsake box and tissue paper.
What is wedding dress ‘preservation’?
(similar answer to above) Wedding dress preservation is a special cleaning and packaging process that is done to ensure the garment will retain its quality for years to come. After the dress is cleaned, it should be housed in an acid-free box and folded using acid-free tissue paper to support all folds and portions of the dress, like the skirt, sleeves, and bust.
Do you sell keepsake boxes?
Yes we do! Your gown can be safely kept in our keepsake boxes, which are acid-free. The gown will be neatly pressed and wrapped in our acid-free tissue paper, which then goes into the keepsake box. Our keepsake boxes are $120. We do not keep this on-site so please contact us if you wish to order one.
